challie&jon. married.

long before jon asked challie to marry him, she had contacted s&s to tell us how much she liked our work. we were flattered. and then when she contacted us again within days of getting engaged and asked us to shoot her wedding, we were so thrilled. we love shooting for clients who give us total reign and don’t get nit picky about specific shots. when a bride and groom are willing to release control and completely trust the photographers, i think that’s when the best work comes out.

for this wedding, i had the privilege of shooting with my fiancé, mr. casey stewart, who was a fantastic assistant. challie&jon were such a pleasure to work with. they have such sweet spirits and kind hearts. thanks for allowing us to be a part of your day, challie&jon!

challie & jonny. engaged.

it was such a privilege to shoot challie and jonny’s engagement. challie is an avid blogger and a long-time follower of s&s. she even featured us on her blog, going to the chapel and is currently writing for weddingbee.com. the three of us had such a great day in thomasville, georgia. s&s is consistently blessed to work with such laid-back brides. challie is the perfect example. can’t wait to shoot their april wedding!

katie&gil. {married.}

kelly and i have been blessed to shoot weddings for a number of easy-going brides, but katie is as laid back as they come. it was incredible to work with a bride who wholeheartedly trusted our ability as photographers and didn’t get upset when a little dirt got on her dress.

katie and gil had a small ceremony at the marriott renaissance in tampa. they were married nearly two years ago in a courthouse in alabama before gil was deployed to iraq, but they wanted to be able to celebrate with family and friends. their love for each other was so apparent, and it was refreshing to see a couple more focused on celebrating their relationship than planning a big to-do.

thank you guys for being so wonderful and for making us feel so welcome.

china. {travels.}

this july, my husband and i had an amazing opportunity to travel to china. we had been anxiously awaiting this adventure for quite some time. instead of taking a big vacation for our honeymoon, we saved up for china. fortunately for us, my husband’s brother lives there and my in-laws came with us, so the trip doubled as a great family vacation. traveling is without a doubt one of my greatest passions and thankfully i’ve married a man who feels the same. i can’t even begin to explain the things i saw there or learned. my eyes have been opened yet again to the beauty of God’s creation. here are only a handful of the pieces of life i was able to capture there.

lindsey. {lifestyle portrait.}

last month i shot a few portraits of my sister lindsey at one of our favorite tallahassee locations. i’ve taken countless photographs there simply because i love the way the light hits the field right before dusk. there’s something magical about those warm tones. oh, and just so you know, lindsey handcrafted that dress! impressive, right?  ~lnl.

lindsey&justin. {engaged.}

i met lindsey at a camp after my freshman year of high school. we were young and awkward and connected immediately. all throughout high school we were inseparable, so when lindsey decided to join me at the university of florida, i was ecstatic! our college years were filled with laughter and tears and some of the most incredible memories i can imagine.

i met justin when he was a junior in high school. he and lindsey were working on a spanish project together, and i tagged along to laugh at their horrendous accents. i liked justin immediately. he and lindsey had such natural chemistry, but both were dating other people.

it was always obvious that there was something there, but four years went by before the two were honest about their feelings.

i am so thankful for the friendship lindsey and i have been blessed with and so excited to be able to stand by her side as she and justin commit their lives to one another on august 13.

diane&michael. {married.}

this past weekend i had the privilege of documenting my cousin’s wedding. he and diane have been together for nearly eight years. that being said, even before their marriage, she was already just as much a part of the family as he was. they were officially pronounced husband and wife on february 19th on the terrace overlooking the florida state football field. both diane and michael are avid seminole fans, and michael is a recruiting writer for warchant. it only made sense for the seminole spirit to be such a part of their wedding.

best of luck, you guys.

the ward family. {a new addition.}

i was blessed to meet this wonderful family just before they moved to ethiopia this past summer. meredith knew she’d be coming back to the states to have baby owen, but didn’t know he’d want to come 5 weeks early! the ward family raced to get home and made it just in time, having baby owen only days later. their girls, neleah piper and rylen tyndale, welcome their tiny new brother owen francis to the family. i so enjoyed the joy and love this family has. ~ kck.

tanner james kee. {1 week new.}

i had the privilege to be the first to photograph this little one. tanner james was born on november 15th at 8:17 pm. he came into this world an 8 lb 4 oz, 21-inch beautiful baby boy. i think photographing newborns might just be my new favorite thing. ~kck.

the kee family. {a new addition.}

my brother-in-law, josh, and his wife, kari, are expecting their second child this november. their 2-year-old daughter, peyton riley, can’t wait to be a big sister to baby tanner; we all can’t wait to welcome this new addition to the family and lavish him with love. this shoot was simple and fun. a field and some trees always make for a perfect setting. ~kck.
